Cristina Iglesias

Hondalea

Cristina Iglesias (National Prize for Plastic Arts in Spain and Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts) is one of the most international artists of the Basque Country, with her work she explores the creation of sensory spaces through various materials, such as resin, stainless steel, aluminum and ceramic stone to create a series of pieces where water flows and generates currents that in their flow occupy and vacate not only space, but also silence.

We have the honor of collaborating with Cristina Iglesias in the development of the communication strategy for the Hondalea project that the artist has carried out in the Lighthouse on Santa Clara Island in San Sebastián.

Cristina Iglesias, using her own sculptural language, intervenes and transforms a remote place within the city, turning it into a symbol of the defense of ecological causes and environmental conservation.

It is important to emphasize the importance of the sculptor's intention when creating this work. With it, the artist wants to enhance a public space through a controlled incursion, also offering a different perspective of the city.

On the other hand, her intervention evokes the idea of art as a refuge, as a meeting place, an idea always present in the work of Cristina Iglesias.

In the graphic universe created for this project, we have prioritized sobriety, cleanliness and, above all, accompaniment to the concept of the work, both in the selection of color and fonts, etc...

«In all my works there is a strategy of constructing places of silence and reflection».
